Burial at Brantley Methodist Cemetery per Rena S. Cobb’s “A History of Marion County, Georgia: Motherland of Many” (1991), p. 606. TYLER biographical information on pp. 455-56. PARKER biographical information on pp. 377-78. P. 606 (in Appendix C) shows the following listing under Brantley Methodist Cemetery: TYLER, James W. 18 JUL 1884 [sic - see birth date update below]--19 JAN 1949. (Unfortunately, instead of these cemetery survey listings being recorded according to where they are buried, so we may see who is buried with whom, and indexing all of these names with the rest of the Marion County History, each of these survey listings has been put alphabetical order, resulting in the loss of important information.)

Son of Andrew Greene & Nancy Rigsby (WEBB) TYLER. Married 31 DEC 1908 in Marion County, Georgia, to Lula Jane PARKER. They had at least five children: Mary Wes TYLER (married Fred WYRICK); Omie Belle TYLER (married Everette GREENE, by whom she had four daughters); Ruby Mae TYLER (married Buddy BLYTHE, by whom she had a son: Talmadge Tyler BLYTHE; Mae & Buddy divorced); Lula Myrtis TYLER (married David RIGSBY, by whom she had one son: Forrest RIGSBY); and Andrew Greene or Jackson TYLER (married Louise POPE, by whom he had one son: Douglas TYLER).

Per Georgia Death Index: James W. TYLER, White male, died 15 JAN 1949, aged 76 years, in Marion County, Georgia, as a resident of the same county, death certificate #1369.

On 09 JAN 2021, Contributor #47074103 (Margot Hudson) submitted the following, with a suggested edit to change the birth date from 18 JUL 1884 to 13 JUL 1873: "Birth date from US WWI Draft Registration 1917-1918 dated 12 Sep 1918. He also appears [aged 5 years] in the 1880 Census [Militia District 948 /] Redbone [District], Marion County, Georgia and 1900 census [of Militia District #1034) (Draneville District) in Marion County] lists date as [aged 26 years, born] Jul 1873. Death date from Georgia Death Index Cert #1369." [I have a feeling the inscription on the headstone has a birth date of 13 JUL 1874, which was misread in the cemetery survey as 18 JUL 1884. He was aged 36 on the 1910 census of Militia District 1339 (Pine Knot District), and on 1920 census of same district, aged 46 years; - jml]
