Frances M. Blatnik, 84, formerly of Gary-New Duluth, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in Nopeming Nursing Home. She was born in Ely on Dec. 12, 1915, to John and Margaret Hutar and had lived in Duluth for the past 48 years.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, the Slovenian Women's Union Branch 33 and the KSKJ Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Sr. in 1987; sisters: Mary Hutar, Margaret Veranth and Catherine Merhar; and brother, John Hutar.
Frances is survived by her son, Anthony (Darlene); daughter, Frances (James) Morris; brothers: Bernard and Peter Hutar; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial at a later date in Eveleth.
