Parents were Chas.T.Harris and Mary Alice Stephenson. Her parents were residing at Concession 6, Lot 14 and Charles was a Laborer. Florence was born at East Whitby according to her birth registration.

Florence Luella Fowler of 54 Liberty Street South, Bowmanville, a nurse on the staff of Memorial Hospital who was regarded with respect and affection by all whom she came in contact, died on May 30, 1957 at the age of 49. Mrs. Fowler had acted as a special nurse in Bowmnaville for eight years and was in her sixth year on the hospital staff. She received her nurses training at Ontario Hospital, Whitby, from which she graduated , and received her R.N. degree at Belleville. She followed her profession as a nurse in Cobourg and Toronto for several years before coming to Bowmanville. The decesed was a daughter of Mrs. Charles Harris of Orono, and the late Mr. Harris, and was born on Scugog Island. She was a menber of Trinity United Church and of the Nurses Association. Florence had a host of friends and will be remembered by all those who came under her care for her cheery nature. She will be greatly missed by her fellow staff members. She leaves her husband, one son John, and a brother , Frank Harris of Stouffville, as well as her Mother, Mrs. Charles Harris, Orono. Funeral service held on June 2 in the Morris Funeral Chapel, was largely attended. Rev. T. Arthur Morgan conducted the service. There were many beautiful flowers, among them tributes of the Nurses Association, Hospital Board, Hospital Staff, Goodyear Receiving Room, Goodyear Local 189, Maple Grove Soccer Team. Bowmanville Juvenile Baseball team. Pall bearers were Messrs. Fred Wilson, Rex Stephenson, Lawrence Harris and Charles Taylor, cousins of the deceased, and Jim Fowler and Albert Fowler, brothers-in-law. Interment was in Bowmanville Cemetery.
