Robert Rivers Hunt was a member of Red Oak Church (now Williamson U.M.C.) Second Distirct Road, Williamson (Pike Co.), GA. He became a member in 1836 and was removed in 1849. Red Oak Church Register 1823-1895

Dr. Robert Rivers Hunt, widely known in his time was among the few doctors to maintain residence in one of the northern districts, was born March 19, 1818 and died April 11, 1876. He joined efforts of a few neighbors after the educational collapse of the Civil War days, to start a private school in White Path where he resided. Mary A, his wife born Sept. 7, 1829 and died April 9, 1891. Mrs. Jack Pinson was the daughter of this public-spirited couple.
