Mr. Christmas, son of the late Grandison and Mary Van Christmas, was born April 3, 1938 in Warren County.
He was a graduate of John Hawkins High School in Warrenton.
He played baseball for the minor leagues in New Jersey and was a timber cruiser for most of his life.
Mr. Christmas is survived by his wife, Margaret Williams Christmas of Norlina; one daughter, Robin Christmas Johnson of Orange, N.J.; one son, Derrick Christmas of Forrestville, Md.; one stepdaughter, Patricia Marvette Lankford of Greensboro; two stepsons, Stephen Alston and Preston Alston, both of Paterson, N.J.; three sisters, Geraldine Gregory of South Orange, N.J., Maxine Cooper of Huntsville, Ala., and Irene Carter of Warrenton; three brothers, Hervy E. Christmas and Kenneth Christmas, both of Warrenton, and B. Tex Christmas of Montclair, N.J.; and 13 grandchildren.
