She was born to the late Edward and Ann Marie (Dickenson) West on July 28, 1947, in White Pigeon, Mich.
Ginny found her soul mate, Kenneth Grove, and on Aug. 4, 2000, at a ceremony on North Pier in St. Joseph, they wed with a parade of friends and family.
Education was always very important to Ginny. She furthered her education after high school, first receiving her bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University and then her master's degree, also from Western Michigan University. She loved to be outdoors doing anything; she loved every bit of nature and found her solace just sitting and enjoying God's creations. She loved to bake, cook and decorate. However, her passion was her family, special friends and her students; time spent with them was precious.
Preceding Ginny were her parents and a brother, Jack West.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Benton Harbor; her son, Sean (Andrea) Truhn of St. Joseph; her stepchildren: Michael (Mary) Grove of Minnesota, Paula (David) Brewton of Texas and Shelley (Bob) Moyer of St. Joseph; 10 grandchildren; her sister, Barb (Jim) House of Croswell; as well as a host of dear friends.
In accordance with Ginny's wishes, she has chosen to donate her body to science. A celebration of life service in her honor will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 26, 2015, at Lake Michigan Catholic High School in St. Joseph, with Father Jim Morris officiating.
Those wishing to make memorial donation may do so in Ginny's honor to Ginny Grove Scholarship Fund c/o Sean Truhn, 902 Lewis Ave., Apt. A; St. Joseph, MI 49085.
