FRANKLIN - Mrs. Ruth E. (Johnson) Clements, 80, of Franklin, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Caritas Norwood Hospital.
She was the wife of Ronald L. Clements, who died in 1992.
Born in Bridgeport, Conn., a daughter of the late Gustav and Edith (Loseno) Johnson, she lived in Connecticut most of her life until moving to Virginia in 1991, and then to Franklin in 2000. She was raised and educated in Stratford, Conn., and was a graduate of Stratford High School.
A retired homemaker, Mrs. Clements was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens and was a longtime member of the Stratford United Methodist Church in Stratford, Conn., and while in Virginia, was a member of the United Methodist Church in Galax. She also enjoyed her family and knitting.
She leaves a son, Bryan C. Clements and his wife, Lori, of Franklin; two sisters, Jeanette Winton and her husband, Frank, of Stratford and Josephine Pellegrino and her husband, Dan, in Florida; three grandchildren, Kirsten Clements of Bridgeport, Conn., Erika Clements of Beacon Falls, Conn., and Bradley Clements of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Richard and Leonard Clements and the sister of the late Alice Dalton.
A graveside service was scheduled for Monday, July 17, at the family lot in Lawncroft Co-operative Cemetery in Fairfield, Conn., followed by burial.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
