Roger Dean Barkley 41, of Kannapolis passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015. Roger was born on March 1, 1974 in Cabarrus County, son of Roger Dale Barkley and Belva Lucille Patterson. Roger attended A.L. Brown High School and Rowan Cabarrus Community College. He was a welder by trade. Roger was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, and a lifetime patriot of the Scottish Games. He enjoyed being outdoors, shooting sports, cars and war history. In addition to his parents, Roger is survived by his daughter, April Lynne Barkley of Charlotte; brothers, Kevin Dale Barkley and wife Patricia, and Aaron Keith Barkley; sisters, Robin Renee Barkley, Amber Michelle Barkley, Rachel Dawn Miller, April Elaine Reynolds and husband Shane, and Shayna Elaine Barkley. Roger is also survived by his step-father, Jerry Lee Louk, 7 nieces, 4 nephews and many cousins. There will be a visitation on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. Powles Staton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Barkley family.
