William Hewes Bell, Jr. a resident of Prattville, AL, went to be with his Savior on September 10, 2015 at the age of 74. He faithfully served in the pastoral ministry for 45 years having served churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and Missouri.

He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1963 and Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS in 1969. He served Heritage Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, MO for 17 years from 1989-2006. After semi-retirement he and his wife Susan moved to Prattville, AL where he taught at Eastwood Christian School and Emerald Mountain Christian School. He served as interim pastor at First Presbyterian in Prattville from 2008-2010, where he remained on staff as assistant to the pastor until his death. He loved preaching and teaching the Word of God, and remained faithful to the scriptures and the reformed faith throughout his entire ministry. He loved the people of God that he served and was deeply loved by all.

He married his wife of 46 years, Susan Remington of Bradenton, FL in 1969. He is survived by Susan and five grown children: Ginny Hensley (Randy) of Prattville, Julie Cavnar (Reid) of Prattville, Joel Bell (Jill) of Oxford, MS, Susanna Bahnak (Jason) of St. Louis, MO, and Stephen Bell (Kate) of St. Louis, MO, fifteen grandchildren,and sister Ginger Bell Cotten.

Interment will be on Monday, September 14th at the Pocahontas cemetery in Pocahontas, MS at 3:00 pm. The memorial service will follow the next day at First Presbyterian Church in Prattville. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm followed by the service which will be officiated by Pastor Bryant Hansen.
