" SS Gannet, .......was a British steamer of 1127 tons.
On July 7th, 1916, Gannet, on a voyage from Rotterdam to London with general cargo, was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-6 (Otto Ehrentraut), 5 miles ENE Shipwash lightvessel. 8 persons were lost. "
