Mrs. Martha Tracy Irish Berringer died at 3:35 am Thursday at her home, 201 13th Street. She was born May 28, 1873, near Hendersonville.
In early life she came to Franklin and lived here since. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Women's Bible Class there. She was an active member of Daughters of Rebekah for 42 years, and was a past grand noble there; a member of the ladies of the Maccabees, the auxiliary of the Patriarchs Militant, uniformed rank of Masons; past president of Daughters of Union Veterans; member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; and of the American Legion. She established a wide circle of friends by her many engaging and agreeable qualities. She was an exemplary wife and mother, and was a recognized standby in the work of various organizations she was affiliated with.
She married Albert E. Benninger and he survives, with three children, Charles E. Berringer of Oil City, Albert E. Berringer Jr. of Franklin, and Mrs. J. B. Mong of Rocky Grove; 12 grandchildren; a brother, F. V. Irish of Buffalo, NY; and two sisters, Mrs. G. W. Grasser and Mrs. Harry E. Rich of Cleveland, OH.
Services will be at 2:30 om Saturday at her home with the Rebekahs in charge, with Rev. S. S. Clark and Rev. Dr. Martin Aigner officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
