"O T Bodamer Dies Suddenly In Maryland - Had Taken His Wife and Sister-in-Law on Trip, Was Stricken in Sleep - IN GARAGE BUSINESS - Orphil T Bodamer, aged 51, who resided at 411 West Spruce street, died unexpectedly early Sunday at the home of Mrs Mary Meditz, a sister of Mrs Bodamer, in Essex, a suburb of Baltimore. With Mrs Bodamer and Mrs Meditz, formerly of Oil City, he left by motor early Saturday for Baltimore and so far as known Mr Bodamer was in his usual health when he retired that evening. Early yesterday his wife was awakened by his making unusual sounds and he died in a few minutes. Mr Bodamer was a son of the late Frank O and Mrs Katherine Bodamer and was born in Sharon, Sept 10, 1895. He lived for a time in Franklin and Oil City and came to Titusville in 1912. For a time he was chauffeur for the late Frank von Tacky and also for Fred B Howland. He was later employed in the Queen City Garage on West Central avenue, which he later acquired. He had been in the garage business for himself for 28 years. He erected the modern building at West Spring and Monroe streets and was the agent for Hudson cars. On Nov 18, 1916, he was married to Rosana G Bodamer of this city, who survives with one son, Orphil Bodamer, Jr, whose twin brother died at birth. He also leaves his mother, two sisters, Mrs Russell I Wilson of Titusville and Mrs Harold Hastings of El Cajon, Calif, and two brothers, Lloyd F Bodamer of Warren, O, and Arthur A Bodamer of Youngstown, O. There are three grandchildren, John, Allen and Christine Bodamer. HIs father died on Oct 4, 1946. The body will be brought to the E A Peterson funeral home and announcement of time for services will be announced Tuesday morning."
