Construction worker loved fishing, music, races
Mr. Howard E. "Harry" Knorr Jr., 46, of rural Nescopeck, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at his home following a six-month illness.
Born Dec. 8, 1960, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Howard E. Knorr Sr. and Shirley (Ruckle) Knorr. Harry was married to the former Barbara J. Petty. On Feb. 13, 2007, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Harry was a construction worker, employed for the past six years by Don E. Bower, Inc. of Berwick. Prior to that, he worked construction for 20 years with Strausser Construction.
Harry was a great friend who offered help to anyone who asked. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He loved going to the family's cabin in Jonestown to relax and fish. He loved music, and one of his favorite pastimes was playing his drums. Harry enjoyed playing cards, as well as attending stock car races and riding his snowmobile and ATV.
Along with his wife, Barbara, Harry is survived by his three daughters: Sarah Knorr of Berwick, and Kati and Emily Knorr, who reside at home. Other family members are: brother, Ernie Knorr of Berwick; sister, Barbara Church and husband, Matt of Berwick; and his mother-in-law, Lillian Petty of Berwick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Albert Petty.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 5, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Kelchner-McMichael Funeral Home, Inc. of 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick. His funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street.
