Betty Louise Edgington, age 71, widow of Frank D. Edgington, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Saint Joseph Hospice Care Center, in Lexington, Kentucky. A native of Clark County, Kentucky, she was born on October 6, 1940, a daughter of the late Everett and Nellie Rison Abney. She was retired from nursing and was a member of River of Life Ministries.

Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Edgington, of Paris, and Ricky Lee (Theresa) Edgington, of Paris; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Sue (Billy) Clifton, of Paris, and Frances Louise (Roger) Smith, of Cynthiana; 13 grandchildren, Tabitha (Terry) Denton, Melissa Clifton, Theresa Smith, Christina (Joey) Ratliff, Sabrina Campbell, Chantel Roach, Erik Edgington, Bobby Edgington, K.W. Edgington, Jr., Colby (Ashley) Smith, Douglas Smith, Randall Roach and Billy W. Clifton; 11 great-grandchildren, Tori Denton, Trent Denton, Elijah Brummett, Jaden Ratliff, Jacob Ratliff, Emily Ratliff, Gabrielle Smith, Gavin Campbell, Alani Clifton, Dylan Clifton and Dylan Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Christian Raglin; three brothers, Mike Abney, of Carlisle, Paul Abney, of Georgetown, and Leroy Abney, of Indiana; three sisters, Emma (Jim) Bishop, of Lexington, Opal (Arthur) Walker, of Oldham County, and Addie Estes, of Jefferson County; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: a son, Steve Edgington; a grandson, Roger Smith; and a great-grandson, Jordan McIntire.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street, Paris, by Pastor Krista Hampton. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, until the hour of service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Erik Edgington, Bobby Edgington, K.W. Edgington, Randall Roach, Colby Smith and Terry Denton.
