Roberta “Bobbie” K. Norling, age 75 years of Oscoda passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at her home. Bobbie was born on May 9, 1940 in Midland to the late Franklin B. and Anna (Beck) LaMott.

Bobbie worked as a newsroom clerk at the Midland Daily News for over 30 years retiring in 2005. She enjoyed playing the piano and accordion. She coached girl’s softball and liked to bowl. She loved her children to the ends of the earth.

Bobbie is survived by her children: Gretchen & Ronald Holmes and Eric Norling. She was predeceased by her son Chris Norling. She is also survived by her granddaughter Branwyn Holmes. Bobbie is survived by her sisters: Sally LaMott, Patricia Palmer, Mary Ann Welch and her brother Barry LaMott. She was predeceased by her siblings Ella Mae Burton, Jack LaMott, JoAnn Lyons and Charles LaMott.

A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Brigid Catholic Church on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Fr. James Bessert officiating with visitation at the church beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Friends may visit with the family at Smith Miner Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 4-7 PM with a vigil service held at 6:30 PM.
