Graveside services for Orbie H. Hardister Sr., 76, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hardister died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his home.

He was born June 27, 1927, in Harrisburg, Mo., the son of John W. and Elizabeth (Hammond) Hardister.

Mr. Hardister was a painting contractor and had co-owned Hardister Brothers Painting. He retired in 1986.

He married Patricia Ice on Aug. 27, 1949, in Ottawa. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Velva Rollins, Lawrence; three sons, Orbie Jr., Kansas City, Kan., Robert, Lawrence, and Rodney D., Dallas; a brother, John, Lawrence; two sisters, Dorothy Ray, Lawrence, and Patty Allen, St. Joseph, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A great-granddaughter died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
