Jennings: It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Carolyn Gatte announces her passing from this life on September 15, 2015 at the age of 59. Carolyn was born in Jennings, La. to Adam Dallas Gatte and Deveda Ross Gatte on April 12, 1957. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to taking care of those she loved. She enjoyed flowers, going to church and cooking for anyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Ditmars (Jason) of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Connie Gatte of Hayes, LA, Dolores Schoultz of Jennings, LA; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Langley, Kaleb Langley, Kailen Ditmars, Gabriel DeVeau.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Deveda Gatte; one brother, Austin Gatte; two sisters, Dorothy “Jean” Romero and Iris Deshotel.
Funeral Services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Paula Raley officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, September 17th from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, September 18th at 8:00 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Gott’s Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews & Son Funeral Home.
