FRANK McCOY - MARLETTE

Frank McCoy, age 91 of Marlette, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at Marlette Regional Hospital Hospice Residence.
He was born September 11, 1924 in Minden City, the. son of Dr. J.P. and Alma(Broadbeck) McCoy.
At age 18, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, July 1943 and served during World War II until March 1946. He participated in the Normandy Invasion aboard a Gunfire Support Craft and served aboard a Landing Craft at Okinawa and Iwo Jima as a gun sight-setter. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he graduated from Minden City High School and became a State of Michigan Bee Inspector.
Frank married Loraine Tenbusch on October 14, 1948 in Oakley, Mich.
He was employed as an Apiarist, worked at Guerdon Industries, Marlette, and retired in 1988 from General Motors, Flint. Frank was a man of strong faith and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marlette, for 60 years. He had a great love of family, enjoying leisure time with his family, woodworking, walking, and reading.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Loraine, and their eight children Ken (Sandy) McCoy of Boca Raton, Fla., Sandie (Dennis) Cargill of Marlette, Dan McCoy of Decatur, Ind., Cindy (Joe) Ruchgy of Portland, Ind., Frank (Chris) McCoy of St. Augustine, Fla., Anne (Don) Redman of Marlette, Dave (Sheila) McCoy of Marlette and Elizabeth (Jeff) O'Donnell of Rochester, as well as 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; a brother Richard (Bertha) McCoy; a brother-in-law Edward Swigert, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers John, James, William, Thomas, Joseph, Robert, and Patrick; sisters Olive, Alma, Helen, and Mary; two infant siblings and grandson Cody Ruchgy.
Visitation will be at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with rosary being said at 7:00 p.m., and on Thursday, September 17,2015 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial
will be on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Holy Family Parish Church in Marlette at 11:00 a.m. The burial with military honors will take place after the mass at the St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Marlette.
Pall bearers are Frank's son's Ken, Dan, Frank
and Dave McCoy.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be given to: Marlette Hospice Residence or Holy Family Parish Church.
