Nelva Jean Scheer, 82, of Gothenburg, formerly of Lincoln, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013. Born on October 22, 1930 in rural Sterling, the daughter of Henry and Lena (Schmidt) Christline.
Jean was baptized on November 9, 1930. She and her husband were longtime Lincoln residents. Jean married Dale on May 18, 1952. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
Survived by: son, Dennis (Vicki) Scheer; daughters, Cynthia (Brian) Jackson, Janette (Ernie) Blecha; grandchildren, Mark and Michael Scheer, Sarah (Jason) Borchers, John (Heather) Blecha, Joanna Blecha, Sam and Naomi Jackson; great-grandchild, Lillian Borchers; sisters-in-law, Lee Adelle (Jim) Starkey, Patti Scheer; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband, Dale; parents; brother, Belden; and sister, Adelaide.
Funeral service: 11 am Thursday, May 9, 2013, Christ Lutheran Church. Committal service at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials to Christ Lutheran Church; Trinity/HOPE; Alzheimer's Association of the Great Plains or donor's choice.
