George Fulton Burr

Funeral services were held on August 10, for George Fulton Burr, a former Mayor and a member of city council for 16 years.

Mickey Moffitt, of Lakeside Community Church officiated in the Coquille Chapel Mortuaries Inc. Mausoleum. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.

Born March 30, 1891, at La Du, Washington, Burr was ? and active member of the community. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2196 and a member in the Rotary Club, having a perfect attendance record for 28 years and was an ex-chief White Tail of the Order of the Antelope.

Burr is survived by a son, Ron, of Coquille; two daughters, Irene Burr, Coquille, and Mary Ivanoff, Bend; two sisters, Gladys Wolfhagen, Portland and Ruby Gaston, Seattle; a brother, Roger, of Seal Beach, California; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family has suggested that friends may make contributions to The Order of the Antelope Scholarship Fund, care of Elbert Schroeder.
