Elizabeth Cantrell was the daughter of Abraham Cantrell and Malissa Lucy Watson. She married Tilman Potter, the son of Ephraim Potter about 1809. Elizabeth with husband Tilman Potter, plus her brother Watson, and her half brothers Abraham and Richard Cantrell, all moved from South Carolina to Tennessee in the early 1800's and settled on Sink Creek in Warren County (now DeKalb County), Tennessee. They lived in White and Warren Counties and settled at Seven Springs with the Cantrell family where they raised their twelve children born between 1810 to 1834.

Elizabeth died in 1836 and was buried in what became known as the Tilman Potter Cemetery in DeKalb Co. Tennessee. Widower Tilman Potter was remarried to Hannah Watkins Webb, a widow with seven children, in 1837.

The tiny Tilman Potter Cemetery, probably only consisting of about eight to ten graves, was plowed over about 1910. Known to have been buried there were Tilman Potter and his wife Elizabeth Cantrell Potter. Located: from Smithville go south on Hwy 56 about 6 and on half miles, turn left (east) on Seven Springs Road. Follow it about 2 miles to new concrete bridge crossing Sink Creek. The cemetery was in a field to the left, had only fieldstone markers.
