He was survived by his children, Oscar Abbott of Tateville, Kentucky, James Earl Abbott of Seattle, Washington, Ida Abbott, Faye Hardgrove and Verma Hammond, all of Burnside, Kentucky and Vernice Hyden of the Wellborn community; his brother, Artie Abbott of Oneida, Tennessee; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia (Angel) Abbott (married in 1925 in Tennessee); and his son, Eugene Abbott.
Funeral services were held at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Brother Harlan Avera officiating.
