PARMA – Bigie Blanton, 86, passed away.
He was the beloved husband of Virginia (Ross); loving father of Barbara Mook (Dexter Thigpen) of Houston, Ronald Blanton (Tammy), Terry Pastor (Joseph) and Michael Blanton; loving grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of six; loving brother of Ruthie and Edna, and the following deceased, Carvel, Ruby, Elizabeth, Roy and Rowlett.
He was an Army veteran of WWII. He retired as a steelworker for U.S. Steel McDonald Works in Youngstown.
There will be funeral prayers Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at St. Columbkille Church, 6740 Broadview Road, Parma, OH 44134.
Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
The family will receive friends at the Yurch Funeral Home, 5618 Broadview Road, Parma, OH 44134 (between Snow and Brookpark), on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
