Ronnie was born on September 12, 1932 in Temple, Oklahoma to Claude and Lottie Gandy. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Posey Gandy on August 22, 1953 in Temple, Oklahoma. Ronnie began his teaching/coaching career in Forsan and Ackerly before moving to Seminole as an elementary school principal in 1972. Ronnie retired in 1996 after 24 years of service. Ronnie was passionate about his teachers and students and also enjoyed his time as a Rotarian. Besides his family, he had a love for all animals and was an avid fly fisherman.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; two brothers, Leroy and Bobby Dean, and a daughter-in-law, Teresa.

Ronnie is survived by:
Two sons, Keith Gandy of Seminole and Kevin Gandy and his wife, Lynn, of Amarillo.
One daughter, Kara Beth Cox and her husband, Robert, of Austin.
Other family, Clayton Dutton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
Two sisters, Claudia Wendt of Long Grove, Oklahoma and Wanda Porterfield of Ardmore, Oklahoma;
A brother, Rob Gandy and his wife, Kathy, of Ada, Oklahoma.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or the National Kidney Foundation.

Family and friends gathered on Thursday, September 17 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for visitation in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Gaines County Cemetery prior to his Celebration of Life service which was held on Friday, September 18 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

Services were under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.
