Paul Franklin Carpenter of DeSoto, Texas, beloved husband, father, Granddad & Great Granddad, went to be with his Lord & Savior September 20, 2015. He was born March 22, 1932 in Gober, Texas, the son of Frank O. & Myrtie (Creech) Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter served on the Desoto ISD School Board for many years in the 1970’s and served as the President of the Board as well. He went on to work for & retire from the school district. He was a lifelong Baptist and served as a Deacon. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pat A. Carpenter; son, Terry Carpenter & wife, Marsha; daughter, Kimberly Ylda & husband, Joe; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Eddlemon (Corey), Wade Carpenter (Sarah), Paul Ylda (Candice), Kelli Sanders (Doug) and Jay Ylda (Ashley); 9 great grandchildren & sister, Shirley Pitman & husband, John. Funeral Service is 2:00 PM, Thursday September 24, 2015 at Hampton Road Baptist Church, 400 N. Hampton Rd., DeSoto, Texas 75115. Burial follows at Laurel Land Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Wednesday at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the DeSoto Food Pantry, 302 N. Hampton Road, DeSoto, Texas 75115.
