Diane Jean Hill, 71, of Osburn, Idaho ran into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, Sept. 10, 2015, at Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho. She was born May 6, 1944 Montebello, Calif., to Armand and Evelyn DeLaO.
Diane grew up in sunny southern California with her three sisters, climbing trees and riding her bike around the neighborhood. She often said that as a child, she knew exactly what was happening in every house and family within a two-block radius. She graduated from Fontana High School in 1962, with life-long friendships that she nurtured to the end.
In 1963, Diane met Wayne Hill at the local Tasty Freeze. With a smirk on her lips she would recall how he had thought she was Italian because of the "beautiful tone of her skin" she was Mexican, and thought this was quite funny.
On May 7, 1965, in San Bernardino, Calf.,she promised to love Wayne 'till she breathed her final breath; she made good on that promise every day for 50 short years.
Diane worked hard at building and making a home for Wayne and their three sons. She was always the last one to sit at the dinner table, and the first to clean up everyone's dishes for them. Her servant's heart was a continual blessing to her family and to those around her.
Diane loved the 15 years she and Wayne spent raising and showing quarter horses up and down the California coast. She loved to shop(especially form QVC and JSN}she loved Las Vegas and country music; but most of all, she absolutely loved visiting friends, and her being with her family.
In 2002, Diane and Wayne moved to beautiful North Idaho. This was nothing short of a miracle from above, considering just how much she hated the "white stuff" (snow). She and Wayne quickly set down roots in Osburn and she fell in love with the people. After 13 years, she loved the people even more----but still hated the snow.
Diane will always be remembered as a wife and best friend who loved passionately; a mother and nana who loved fiercely; and a sister and friend who love deeply.
Diane is survived by her husband Wayne Hill of Osburn, Idaho; three sons, Micheal Hill of Apple Valley, Calif., David (Shannon) Hill of Arvada, Colo., and Tisan (Dia) Hill of Post Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren: Anthony, Matthew and Evelyn Hill from David and Shannon Hill and T.J. and Reilly Hill from Tisan and Dia Hill; her father Armand DeLaO of Rialto, Calif., three sisters, JoAnn (Bill) Locke of Barstow, Calif., Terry DeLaO of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Armalyn DeLaO of San Bernardino, Calif., and best friends, Joyce Catlett of Canyon Country, Calif., Mary Hernandez of Fontana, Calif., Lisa Rainwater of Phelan, Calif., and Bea Ann Duckworth of Fourney, Texas.
A graveside memorial service will be held for Diane at Shoshone Memorial Gardens 183 Serenity Loop Pinehurst, Idaho, Sept. 23, 2015, at 10 a.m.; following immediately will be a potluck reception at Gene Day Park in Osburn, Idaho.
