Loren W. Addison, age 93, of Cobb, died on Thursday Sept. 17, 2015 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. Loren was born on Oct. 9, 1921 in Montfort, WI the son of Everett and Anna (Jacobson) Addison. He married Ruth Wood on Nov. 27, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.

Following graduation from Montfort High School, Loren worked as a mechanic at the Ford Garage in Fennimore. He later worked in Madison at AMCO Transmission for 10 years before purchasing the old Studebaker garage in Stitzer in 1968. Loren owned and operated Addison Transmission until 1982 when he sold the business to his son Gary. Loren loved spending his winters in Arizona for the past 47 years, dancing and entertaining his always welcomed visitors. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. His sense of humor and prankster demeanor will forever be cherished.

Loren is survived by his two children; Gail (Michael) Dennis of Moss Beach, CA and Gary Addison (Sharon Stoney) of Stitzer, three grandchildren; Kyle (Sarah) Addison of Stitzer, Nicholas Addison of Verona and Erika Johnson of San Francisco, CA, great-granddaughter Bristol Addison and brother-in-law Bill Reiser of Austin, TX.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, brothers Lyle and Neil Addison, sister Donna Reiser and brother in law Arden (Lela) Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday Sept. 23, 2015 at the Montfort United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Montfort. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening Sept. 22, 2015 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort where a Masonic service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday morning.
