George Edwin Leach, age 78, of Murfreesboro formerly of West Point, MS died Tuesday September 8, 2015. He was a native of Dossville, MS and was retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service. After retirement, Mr. Leach worked for Babcock & Wilcox in West Point. Prior to moving to Murfreesboro, Mr. Leach continued his career with the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 20 years as a Lock Operator on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in Fulton, MS.

Mr. Leach is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nell Irene Leach; sons, George Darryl Leach and wife Aimee-Beth of Murfreesboro; David Edwin Leach of New Mexico; grandchildren, Joshua Casey Leach, James David Leach, Lauren Hudson Leach, and Stephen Maxim Leach; sister, Mahaska Rainey Whitley and husband Tom of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Clayton Leach, and Lou Nanette Dodson Leach Rainey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer Association www.alz.org.

Celebration of Mr. Leach’s life will be 10:00AM Saturday at Sunnington Assisted Living located at 1658 Lascassas Pike Murfreesboro, TN.
