Martha B. Shipley

Martha B. Shipley, 83, of Dunbar died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 after a long, courageous with Dementia in Eicher’s Family Home, Normalville comforted and surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 2, 1931 in Connellsville a daughter of the late George and Effie Marie (Wilson) Fueher. Martha was a very active member of Faith Baptist Church, Dunbar. She retired after 30 years with Frick Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She also taught Geriatrics at the Connellsville Area Career and Technical Center. Martha enjoyed spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha is survived by a son James M. Shipley & wife Lori, a daughter Pamela Sue Showman and husband Richard, all of Dunbar, five grandchildren; David K. Waggett and wife Chris, Jennifer L. Waggett and husband Roy, Sara E. Showman ad husband Greg, Jessica M. Shipley and husband Andrew, and Jordyn N. Shipley and husband Keith, 4 great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Kozel, Maddison Waggett, Grace Hriscisce, Haley Beal, with a 5th great-grandchild expected soon, one brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her husband James H. Shipley in 2007, and a brother James Fueher. Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME 123 S. 1st St. West Side, Connellsville on Wed. from 6-8PM and Thurs. from 12-4 and 6-8PM, and Fri. from 10-11AM the hour of service with Rev. Dave Douthitt and Rev. Lee Maley officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park. Martha’s family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis and Eicher’s Family Home for the personal care they provided.
