LEXINGTON - The Funeral Of Clifford W. Brooks, 83, of 405 N. Elm St., Lexington, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church, Bloomington. The Rev. Garry Gromley will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Musselman-Beck Funeral Home, Lexington, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. He died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 1, 1996) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Clarice Brooks; two daughters, two sons, one sister, 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, and 12 nieces and nephews. One brother, two sisters and one great-grandson preceded him in death. He was born March 23, 1913, in Lexington, the son of Thomas and Ella Mustin Brooks. He married Clarice Wills Aug. 18, 1937, in Saybrook. Mr. Brooks farmed in the Lexington area all his life and was an avid gardener. He belonged to Grace United Methodist Church and the McLean County Farm Bureau. (The Pantagraph)
*** On 14 March 2016, there was a Donald Trump Rally at the airport across the street from this cemetery. Although located beneath a tree, Clifford's grave, his wife, Clarice's, Clifford's sister, and brother in-law, as well as, Sylvester family members graves were driven over (by people using the cemetery for a parking lot) causing damage to the gravesites.
