Olin Cecil, 88, was born June 23, 1927 and passed away September 21, 2015. He was born to Oscar Benedict Cecil, Sr. and Mary Banks Cecil in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He attended Rice University. He enlisted in the United States Navy when he was seventeen and was soon teaching radar to naval pilots and at least one admiral.
He was a Son of The Republic of Texas and traced his lineage back to Stephen F. Austin’s Old 300. He created beautiful stained glass pieces, enjoyed bridge and square dancing, watched the Dallas Cowboys and loved the Texas Rangers.
Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Earl Roddy Cecil in May and his son, Stephen Leigh Cecil in 2008.
He will be buried at the Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The service will be held September 26, 2015 at the Abbey Chapel.
