She was united in marriage January 3, 1928, in Princeton, IL to Mr. Leonard H. Abell.
Mrs. Abell was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sandwich. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Organization and the DeKalb County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include her three children; Gail (Donald J.) Chapman of Hinckley, Leonard (Sharon) Abell of Hinckley, and Joyce L. (Michael) Klotz of Big Rock; eleven grandchildren, Laura (Gary) Noll, of Sandwich, Donald (Tamara) Chapman, Jr., of Geneva, Debra (Jeffrey) Martenson of Shabbona, Catherine Chapman of Hinckley, Michael Chapman of Hinckley, Lee Ann Abell of Detroit, MI, Vicki (Steve) Dreas of St. Paul, VA, Kelly Abell of Aurora, Todd, Andrew and Allison Klotz of Big Rock; six great grandchildren, Ashley Salazar, Jessica Noll, Katelyn, Nicole and Jaclyn Chapman and Amanda Dreas; and a sister, Eveline (Rhea) Wright Pank of Sandwich. Mrs. Abell will be remembered for so many things, but mostly for the love she gave to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Sandwich. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Sandwich.
Arrangements were completed by Nelson Funeral Homes, Philip S. Nelson owner and director.
