Peter Samuel Gatzke was born on October 27, 1919, in Colony, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, September 21, 2015, in Seminole, Oklahoma, at the age of 95.

Peter, the son of Fred and Mary (Schmidt) Gatzke, was a resident of Seminole County near Earlsboro, Oklahoma. He married Bertha Neufeld on May 1, 1947, in Corn, Oklahoma and they remained married until her death on August 9, 2000. Peter proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed by Grissom Implement for more than 20 years, was a Deacon at Fairview Baptist Church for 10 years, and was an active member of the American Legion. He enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles and fall foliage tours.

Peter’s parents, wife, one son, two brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jakki Gatzke of Earlsboro; grandchildren, Michael Gatzke of Shawnee and Russell Gatzke of Ada; great grandchildren, Abigail, Amarie, and Andrew Gatzke of Shawnee.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Pastor Chuck Utsler officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery in Seminole County.
