Elsie Adair Cash, 89, of 903 Cherokee National Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at her home.

Born in Converse, S.C. on Feb. 23, 1926, she was the widow of the late Martin Bernard Cash to whom she was married for 59 years and the daughter of the late Arthur Lyles Adair and Emma Durham Adair.

She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. To her children, she was Mama. She was very dedicated to her family and to her Lord. Mrs. Cash was a homemaker, loved gardening and cooking, and was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Judy Bagwell (Jimmy), CSM Retired William Cash (Kaye), Sandra Rhinehart (Edwin) and Marie Linder (Dr. Lee), all of Gaffney; and by her grandchildren, Lori Ann B. Tripp (Dean), Tammy E. Bagwell, Susan C. Potter, Jason William Cash, Mollie R. Vassey (Jeff) and US. Air Force Master Sgt. Marty Rhinehart (April). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Olivia Allison, Mason B. Rhinehart, N. Gabe Rhinehart, Will C. Rhinehart, and Nicholas E. and John P. Vassey who were like sons to her. She is also survived by one great-great granddaughter, Ava V. Cash. She is also survived by two sisters, Ozie A. Clark of Inman, and Myrtle A. Moore of Laurens; and a brother, Hubert L. Adair (Maxine) of Union Mills, N.C. Also surviving are her three loving pets, Buffy, Blue and Cocoa.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, six sisters, and a grandson, John Arthur Linder .

The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Robert Kaemmerlen; his nurses, Gina and Susan; and office personnel, Katie, Tracy and Susan for the professional, loving care provided. Also thanked is Gentiva Home Health and Gentiva Hospice, especially Claudia, Jonathan, Karen and Brooklyn.

The family will received friends on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Mike Frazier and the Rev. Jim Davidson officiating.

The family will be at the home of Jeff and Mollie Vassey, 132 Planters Drive, Gaffney.
