Sidney passed away on Tuesday, Sept.22,2015.
Born Oct.2,1940 in Defiance,Ohio to Kenneth and Rebecca (Sidner) Weir.
Survived by her husband of 54 years, Bob; two daughters, Laura(Paul)Martin and Robyn(Scott) Curry; five granddaughters, Mallory,Porsche,Rylie,Meredith,Addison; four great-grandchildren; neice, Heather Schwartz (John); great-nephew, Kurtis; beloved aunt and uncle Ann and David Price; extended family, Craig and Carol Morton and family of Niceville, Fla.
Preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Major C. Merrick; son, David; and sister, Leslie Morton.
Sid graduated from West Jefferson High School, class of 1958. She attended the Columbus Business College and was employed by the Shoe Corp of America until becoming a stay at home mom. She was then employed by the Jefferson Local Schools and the middle school secretary for 25 years. Sidney was a member of the West Jefferson American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered many hours at the V.A.in Chillicothe. A member of the West Jefferson United Methodist Church. She was a master gardener, a member of the London Chapter D.A.R.. Red Hats, and Coover Society. She served on the City of London Tree Commission,was a volunteer with the Madison County Probate Court, Loving Care Hospice, served on the board of the Madison County Senior Center and the education board. She was also active in the Republican Party.
Friends may visit from 3-7 p.m. Friday,Sept 25, at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W.Main St, West Jefferson, and 1 hour prior to service 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept.26,2015 at West Jefferson United Methodist Church, 36 E.Center St.,West Jefferson.
