Mrs. Amanda E. (Knappenberger), widow of C. Henry Ritter, died at 1.10 o'clock Monday afternoon at her late home at Red Lion, Longswamp township, Berks county, after an illness of fourteen weeks. She was aged 68 years, 11 months, and 28 days. Mrs. Ritter was born in Longswamp township, a daughter of Henry and Maria (Miller) Knappenberger. Her husband preceded her in death about fourteen years ago. A son, Clarence Ritter, was killed in action in the world war. She is survived by these children: James and William Ritter, and Mrs. Henry Kriebel, this city; Charles Ritter, Longswamp; Mrs. Irwin Christman, Coplay, and Mrs. Wilmer Long, Alburtis. One sister, Mrs. Amelia Raudenbush, of Red Lion, and sixteen grandchildren, also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from her late home, with Rev. Charles Kerschner, this city, officiating. Further services will be held in Lehigh church, near Alburtis, and interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
