Mrs. Nancy Lowe died Tuesday at 8 o'clock at her home on East Fifth avenue. Several weeks ago Mrs. Lowe suffered a slight paralytic stroke and has been confined to her bed ever since gradually growing weaker. The immediate cause of her death was uraemic poison caused by a complication of diseases.
Ever since the death of her husband in 1908, Mrs. Lowe has lived alone and has endeared herself to the neighborhood by her kindness and loving disposition. Besides the immediate relatives she leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss.
Nancy I. Freelove was born in Batavia, Genesee County, New York, Feb. 2, 1836 and died in Winfield, Kansas, April 2, 1918, aged 82 years, 2 months. In the fall of 1855 she moved with her parents to Illinois. She was united in marriage to Samuel Lowe July 18, 1858 and lived in Macon County, Ill. until 1882 when they moved to a farm near Udall, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Lowe moved to Winfield in 1884, where they lived until the time their death.
Mrs. Lowe is survived by three brothers and four sisters and three grandchildren.
In early girlhood she united with the Methodist church, and has been a faithful and devout member. During the severe weather of the past winter she braved the cold and snow to attend the services of her church.
Those who were at her beside during her sickness and death were a sister, Mrs. Eliza Strauss of Independence, a brother, Chauncy Freelove of Muskogee, and a granddaughter, Miss June Brotherton of Wichita.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the home 1017 East Fifth.
