Katie divorced Bob Carson in 1924, Bob Carson disappeared unknown whereabouts by his family until his brother John accidently found him in a nursing home in Tennessee a couple of years before he died. Kate and the 5 children were living in Wynne, Cross County, Arkansas in the 1930 census. The youngest child listed is a granddaughter, child of Mildred Carson. Katie raised Louise, because Mildred died when she was only 28.

There is a divorce record for Katy and R. C. Carson in Cross County, Ar. dated December 12, 1924. In 1930 Kate was running a boarding house, Percy was working as an auto mechanic, Clarence was driving a taxi cab, Mildred was a waitress in a cafe. I was not able to find real estate property ownership for Robert and Katy in Cross County, Ar.

When checking the 1910 and 1920 census in Woodruff County, there is a James Pendergist living in the same area as Robert and Katie. I believe the Pendergrass/Pendergist family moved to Arkansas about the same time that Robert and Kate Carson left Mississippi. Several of Kate's siblings and her mother, Antoinette were living in McCrory in 1910-1920-1930.

Per family heresay, after the separation of Bob & Katie, she took the children and moved to New York. However, I found Katie and the children living in Cross County, Arkansas in 1930 running a boarding house and listed as a widow. Katie is listed in the 1940 census in West New York town, Hudson, New Jersey, living with her daughter, Hazel and son-in-law, Timothy Hardwick, and granddaughter, Louise Catherine Carson. Her two sons are found in SS death records in New Jersey living in nearby areas of each other. William Percy Carson was living in Hudson, New Jersey, 07093 North Bergen and Clarence Michael was living in West New York, Hudson, NJ and his social security was issued in New York before 1951.

When Uncle Bob disappeared the family actually thought he was dead, only a year or two before his death, Uncle John found his brother, Robert Carson, in a nursing home in Tennesse. During that time Uncle John was working on the Carson family genealogy and ran across information about a Carson in a nursing home, who turned out to be his long lost brother.
