Amaryllis Fair Avent passed early Monday morning, September 28, 2015 at her home in Senatobia, MS. She is the wife of E.H. Avent of Senatobia, MS.

Amaryllis was born February 28, 1932 to the late William David Fair and Clara Bell Jackson Fair in Union County, MS. Amaryllis was a postal carrier most of her life and eventually retired as a Postal Service Inspector. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Senatobia, MS. Amaryllis enjoyed life. She liked to fly airplanes, loved to travel, and enjoyed reading and cooking.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, E.H. Avent of Senatobia, MS, her son William E. Avent (Reda) of Shelby, MS, her neighbors she held as close as her children, Wesley and Cindy Ozbirn, 4 sisters, Guen Brown (Dennis) of Morgantown, W.V., Jackie Watson of Franklin, TN, Jo McKibben (Charles) of Louisville, KY, and Eloise Bell (Jimmy) of Inverness MS, 2 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son Vaughn Keith Avent.

Funeral services for Mrs. Avent will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville MS.
