Mr. Howard Wimpy was born on September 21,1923. He passed away on March 29, 2006. The funeral was held at 2 p.m.,Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel in Cartersville, Georgia. Dr. Joe E. Edwards, Rev. Lamar Beason and Parnick Jennings Jr. officiated. Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery in Dalton, Georgia.
Mr. Wimpy was married three times. The last wife was the late Thelma Odell Howard Wimpy. Mr. Wimpy had 5 children:Barbra Schroeder,Ray,Randy,and Glen Wimpy. One baby deceased. He was a Baptist minister for a few years when he was younger. Mr. Wimpy made his living as a security guard. His son,Randy owns a car lot,and Mr. Wimpy spent a lot of time there after his retirement. Mr. Wimpy's hobby was going to car races. He also enjoyed country music,and he met several country singers. He also met Elvis Presley. He and his wife frequently attended the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Mr. Wimpy and his wife,Thelma,raised her grandson,Wayne. Wayne is my son in-law,and he fondly called Mr. Wimpy "Paw Paw". Mr.Wimpy has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren surviving.
