Clem was born April 14, 1920, in Waukon, the youngest of nine children to parents Joseph and Agnes A'Hearn.
As a Navy Seabee, he served his country with honor in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
Clem retired in 1982 after many years of service as a Sheet Metal Supervisor for the LA County Mechanical Department.
Married to Beatrice Solis of El Paso, TX, they settled in Mesa, AZ in 1983 after raising three daughters, Beverly A'Hearn, Julie Malcolm, and Yvonne Suzuki Licopoli.
After the death of his wife in 1993, Clem married Marjorie Ward in 1995. They shared their love of swing dancing to big band tunes.
Clem was also an avid bowler and billiards player in his retirement. He served as president of the Carriage Manor Billiards Club.
