ALICE GEHRINGER Age 89, of Stuart. FL passed away on April 8, 2004 at Parkway Nursing Home. Born Alice Clara Kolasa in Manistee, Michigan on August 8, 1914. Alice graduated from Grace Hospital School of nursing in 1936. Alice resided for many years in Bloomfield Village and Bloomfield Hills , Michigan before moving to Palm City, Florida ,18 years. She was a long time member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church of Palm City & Martin Downs Country Club. Alice was a regular volunteer for the Red Cross and a Grey lady at Martin Memorial North. She was an avid and accomplished golfer in her younger years and has been a life member of Pine Lake Country Club in Pontiac, Michigan. Alice leaves to cherish her memory, her two loving children who were by her side when she passed away, son Charles N. Gehringer, and daughter Therese M. Bergin, 4 grandchildren Victoria Gehringer, and Cynthia, Robert and Linda Bergin. Alice is predeceased by her husband, of 62 years Norman F. Gehringer M.D.; also her sisters, Helen, Gertrude, Elizabeth, Regina and Marie; one brother Casimer. Friends and family may call on Monday, April 12, 2004 from 4pm to 6pm at Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 S.W. Murphy Road, Palm City, FL. A mass of Christian Burial will be given on Tuesday at 9:30am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Palm City. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie, Inc., 1201 S.E. Indian Street , Stuart, FL 34997.
