EMLENTON - Ira Earl Eckleberger, 80, of Emlenton died suddenly at 11 a.m. Thursday in his home after suffering a heart attack.

Born September 26, 1887, at West Home (Emlenton RD 1), Venango County, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Vaughn Eckelberger.

He was married in 1913 to the former Pearl Coast, who preceded him in death in May of 1934. He was later married in 1936 to Alma Allen, who survives.

Mr. Eckelberger was employed for 42 years, from 1911 until 1953, by the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He attended the Fertigs Gospel Tabernacle.

In addition to his wife, Alma, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Hynds of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; two sons, Gerald of Atlanta, Ga., and Ronald Eckelberger Sr. of Emlenton RD 3; two stepsons, A. Linn Allen and Frank T. Allen, both of Pittsburgh, a sister, Mrs. John Dwyer of Franklin; and eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Removal was made to the Criswell Funeral Home in Emlenton, where friends will be received after 7 p.m today.

The body will be taken to the Fertigs Gospel Tabernacle at 1 p.m Sunday. Services will be held there at 2 p.m Sunday. Pastor Harvey Books will officiate.

Interment will be in the Emlenton Cemetery.
