Miss Cooley was a native of Royal Oak, Mich. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and graduated from Muscle Shoals High School in 1990. She participated in the Special Olympics and lit the torch in 1990. Rebecca was an active member of a square dance group and was on a bowling league with Hope Haven and Lauderdale Lanes. She was preceded in death by her father, William E. Cooley.
She is survived by her mother, Lorene Cooley Thomas of Tuscumbia; stepfather, Edward Thomas of Tuscumbia; brothers, Randy Cooley and wife, Debbie, Roger Cooley and wife, Jill, all of Michigan, Robert Cooley and wife, Judy, of Florence, and Ray Anthony Cooley of Michigan; stepbrother, Mickey Thomas and wife, Teresa, of Hartselle; stepsisters,Shelia Moore of Athens and Sandy Frederick of Kentucky; several aunts, uncles, niece and nephews.
