MRS. J. HOFFMAN DIES SUDDENLY OF HEART FAILURE
This community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of one of its well known neighbors and friend, Mrs. John Hoffman, who had passed away early Wednesday morning (July 10). Heart failure was the cause of death.
Mr. Hoffman talked to his wife just before attending to the morning chores and left her apparently in the best of health. When he returned to the house and not finding her up and around the kitchen, went to the bedroom and found her dead in bed.
Funeral services will take place Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's church, Rev. Fr. Quelle and Rev. Fr. Bastian, of Oshkosh will officiate. Interment will be in the local cemetery.
The deceased was born at Maple Grove, Manitowoc County, 62 years ago, her maiden name being Magaret Fritsch. The family moved to Antigo when she was a young girl and several years of her life were spent there. She was married to John Hoffman at Gresham about 40 years ago. The young couple located first on a farm near Gresham, later moving to this village, where for over 20 years they were in the hotel business. Several years ago they moved to a farm near here, where they resided when she passed away.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Frank, of Detroit, John, this village; Anthony, of Shawano; and Mrs. Peter Brahan and Miss Barbara Hoffman of Clintonville. Another daughter, Miss Rose Hoffman, passed away about three months ago.
