Eliza Jane Davis, daughter of Urmanine and John R. Davis, was born at Princeton, Mo April 8, 1854. She received her early schooling in that place, moving to Chillicothe later, where she met and married Mr. Ott, the ceremony taking place January 7, 1872. To this union, eight children were born, four dying in infancy. Those who survive are Mrs. Laura Ingledue of Kansas City, Kansas and Charles, J.B. and Clyde Ott, all of Chillicothe. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Frances and Agnes Ott, and one sister, Epsy Whitacre of Houston, Mo. Mr. Ott passed away January 15, 1910.
A resident of this city for approximately 65 years, Mrs. Ott had watched many changes as Chillicothe grew from a small town to a city of more than 8,000 in population. Very few friends and acquaintances of her early life are living at this time. While Mrs. Ott was not directly affiliated with any religious denomination, she lived a Christian life, loved by those who knew and associated with her.
Funeral services will be held from the Norman Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Charles J. Dohn. Burial will be in Edgewood.” The Chillicothe Constitution Tribune, February 9, 1934
