Services for Elemuel "Lem" Guy Cassels, Sr., 61, of Whigham, GA, are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Full Gospel Chapel, Cairo, GA with Rev. Paul Womak officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Mr. Cassels passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, at his home.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Sellars, Durwood Sellers, Keith Sandefur, Jr., Caleb Cassels, Gabriel Cassels and Joseph Hurst. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Smith and George Sandefur.
Mr. Cassels was born in Cairo, GA, on September 16, 1949, to Virginia McClelland Cassels Sellers and the late William Edwin Cassels. On January 16, 1971, he married Jean Strickland Cassels, who survives. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a stock clerk with Wal-mart and a member of Full Gospel Chapel.
He is survived by: his wife, Jean Strickland Cassels of Whigham, GA; children and spouses, Guy and Lisa Cassels of Gainesville, GA, Deena and Peter Warren of Crawfordville, FL and Crystal and Jason Willis of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Kaytlyn Cassels of Anchorage, Alaska, Nicholas Cassels of Tallahassee, FL, Kyan Cassels of Gainesville, GA, Zoe Willis of Whigham, GA and Owen Willis of Whigham, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Renee Cassels of Colquit, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and George Stokes, Ellerslie, GA, Gloria and Ronnie Hurst of Thomasville, GA and Sharon and Kenny Chason of Whigham, GA; mother, Virginia Cassels Sellers of Cairo, GA.
Mr. Cassels was preceded in death by his father, Ed Cassels.
