Father, John Rogers Halsey, a merchant; partner in William Halsey & Company, dealers in imported goods in New York City, son of Thomas and Phoebe (Walker) Rogers, who were both born in Ireland, adopted son of Charles and Caroline (Curtis) Halsey, of New York City.

Mother, Frances Anna (Dall) Halsey, daughter of Charles and Susan (Lowber) Dall, of New York City

Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute Oration appointments Junior and Senior years; financial editor of Yale Record; member Junior Promenade Committee, Delta Kappa, Eta Phi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, and Scroll and Key. Studied law at Columbia Law School 1,884-85 and in offices of Richards & Heald 1885-86; admitted to New York Bar in May, 1886, had since practiced law in New York City; managing clerk for Richards & Heald 1886-1893; member of firm of Tierney & Halsey 1893-97; engaged in independent practice 1897-1914; member of firms of Halsey, Kiernan & O'KeefTe 1914-19, and Halsey & O'Keeffe 1919-1928; had since practiced alone; member Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York County Lawyers' Association, and the Church of the Messiah (Episcopal), Brooklyn

Unmarried.

Death, due to heart disease, followed an operation at the Harkness Pavilion, Medical Center, New York. Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Survived by three sisters, Mrs. Samuel J. Tilden and the Misses Harriet and Caroline Halsey, and a brother, Hamilton R. Halsey, all of Brooklyn. Another brother, Charles Halsey, '83, died in 1898.
