Mrs. Julia M. Sutherland of 401 W. Monroe St., Carbondale, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Holden Hospital, Carbondale, after an illness of one week. She was 73.
She was born Oct. 3, 1895. in Carbondale to Franklin L. and Harriet Anderson Mayhew. Her husband, Harry Sutherland, died in 1956.
Mrs. Sutherland was a member of the White Shrine of Herrin.
Services were held in Van Natta Funeral Home, Carbondale, with the Rev. Lee C. Moorehead of the First United Methodist Church, Carbondale, officiating. Burial in Rose Hill cemetery, Marion.
