Elburne died when HMCS Iroquois was trading fire with an onshore gun battery and a shell from the shore batteries hit the ship. Two others were killed and ten were wounded in the explosion. It was the RCN's only combat-related fatalities of the Korean War.

Lieutenant Commander John Louis Quinn
Son of Mrs. Bertha Urena (nee Swaze) Chalmers (died 1983, Cremation) of Hamilton, Ontario. Half brother to James Clifford McGregor and Urena Rosetta Wishart.
He is also remembered on the Korean War Wall of Remembrance at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton, Ontario.
